Sherry Harbin

Founder

Sherry Harbin has over 20 years of experience working on the design and translation of natural biomaterials for guiding cellular processes associated with tissue/organ repair and regeneration. Prof. Harbin’s contributions as an innovator and entrepreneur in the tissue engineering/regenerative medicine arena is evidenced by over 40 peer-reviewed publications, numerous conference proceedings, over 90 issued United States and international patents, and an ASTM International standard guidance document. Collectively, her work has yielded two platform tissue engineering/regenerative medicine technologies, namely 1) decellularized ECM-based biomaterials and 2) collagen polymers for fibril-based matrix/material design, both of which have been licensed for commercial development.

PROFILE

GeniPhys is an early-stage life science company commercializing proprietary tissue engineering and regeneration technologies developed at Purdue University. The mission of GeniPhys is to save lives by transforming cell biology and medicine with the first standardized, fibril-matrix forming collagen polymers, namely Collymers, for advanced design of i) predictive in-vitro three-dimensional (3D) model tissues, ii) tissue-engineered medical products (TEMPs), and iii) tissue regeneration therapies.
